Ms. Munger: It was a great treat to hear the rebroadcast of your interview on The State of Things last night. I heard the original broadcast and this past summer, and made a mental note to get some of your books…which, like most good intentions, was never realized. However, the rebroadcast solved the problem of what to give my sister for Christmas. She is a social psychologist plying her wares at a university in Florida – but has always wanted to be a mystery writer. Accordingly, I think she will love your books as well as getting to know a North Carolina writer who (unless I miss my guess) is a kindred spirit. Add two more fans to your list!

    • thank you Godfrey — that is very kind of you to say. Your sister must have collected some excellent material for a mystery by now. I always find the character/people nuances more interesting than the plot whenever I write ( or read) a mystery. She would probably be awesome at it. So glad you caught the show and am delighted you are giving your sister my books for Christmas. I wish I had printed versions of the Casey Jones backlist to offer, but they aren’t ready yet and it will likely be the end of next spring before they are. Right now, they are mostly available in e-book format. But you can probably find the Chaz McGee’s and I suspect your sister would like those the best anyway. Hope you’ll stop by here often!

    Hello,
I heard your interview on The State of Things yesterday as I was driving back from Thanksgiving in Carolina to DC. Excellent conversation and thank you for your rich, open and intriguing observations. Question: any plans for Audible.com or other audiobook formats? I’ve become obsessed with being told a story and yours certainly need to be told!

    • Hi Pandit! I am actually talking to an audiobook company in Canada now about bringing out the Gallagher Gray and Casey Jones books on audiotape. I am not sure what the plans are for the Dead Detective, but thanks for the reminder — I will have to ask my editor. I will post here as soon as I know of any sort of schedule for when the others are coming out. I love audiobooks, too, and have been known to drive around the block many times just to finish one before I get home!

Thanks so much for a speedy reply. I do not seem to sleep anymore since I opened my Audible account and television is a thing of the past. Best of luck to you Miss Katy. I’ll be listening!

Looking to buy the series for my wife, but she’s a paper book person — likes the feel of paper and likes to disconnect from technology and read a real book. Is there any place to get all your ‘books’ in physical book format? Looking forward to purchasing your books and supporting a local author (we’re in Raleigh too) . thanks

A large, shaggy white dog named Blossom wandered on Park Drive near Cameron Village. She was friendly and she slobbered. Was she a Great Pyrenees? Why does she still occupy a few synapses of my aging brain, attached to others labelled “James Taylor” and “Katy Munger?”

    • Your aging brain is holding up well, Jeff… Blossom is like the mythical unicorn of Cameron Park lore. Except she was real, of course. 🙂 I ran across a few color slides of her over the holidays. If I can put my hands on one, I’ll upload a photo of her. She was a sweet soul. Long gone now, of course. Time just keeps on slipping, slipping into the future…. (P.S.: I just saw this post. I think written the same night I emailed you? Synchronicity!)
